Appearance: crystal clear golden base with healthy, contrasting white top, light carbonation. 4-. Nose: Mildly grainy with dry yet light alcohol burn , touch of fruit feel. Flavor/Palate : mid bodied with lighter sides. Malty but its character not as pronounced as in Bocks. Hops are just slight add on . Interesting to see Mocne in its pure from without extra hoping of west. Mild alcoholic dryness at finish. Kudos for being true.

Aroma is grainy and bready with some grassy hoppiness. Flavor was similar to aroma with a touch of fruit and has some pale malt sweetness with a medium body and has a dry finish. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 31, 2009 The first batch I had of this I think had some DMS issues but they appear to have cleaned it up with the latest batch. Intense grassy aroma with hints of hard cheese. Flavor is solidly hoppy with the high ABV fairly well integrated. 17thfloor (1481), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 31, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a clear lighter golden with a nice thick frothy white head and some sticky lacing. Aroma is fairly fruity, sweet cereal, corn, grassy, noble hops, smells thick. Flavor is quite aggressive, lots of Saaz, slightly cheesy, a great deal of residual sweetness, fairly hot, some cereal sweetness but without a lot of character. Medium bodied up front with nice fizzy round carbonation with a slight sizzle but finishes rather syrupy and unpleasant. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I definitely prefer the Sam Adams. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 31, 2009 In short: A lot of crisp sugary pils malts and a lots of dry-grass. Good, not very good
How: Tap at Vermont’s Brewers Festival 2009
The look: Clear golden-yellow body topped by a persistent small white head
In long: Nose have some typical dry-grass-like saaz hops though not as much as I would have expected from a bohemian pilsner on steroids. Since this is a “big” bohemian pilsner I was hoping for a big bowl of rich cereals but instead I got a lot of crisp sugary pils malts with a sweet white bread flavour. Fortunately there’s enough saaz to dry it out in the finish with a nice dry bitterness. But the boring sugary malts just didn’t do it for me. Also a little too boozy for its own good. Not bad but a big bohemian is just not my thing. I prefer small bohemians. With a nice rack if possible.
