Commercial Description:
The latest installment of the Harpoon Leviathan Series was brewed in the centuries-old tradition of Czech and Bohemian brewers. Harpoon Big Bohemian is a large lager with a clean maltiness and a huge aromatic hop character. Continental Pilsner, pale two-row, and Carafoam malt was used to brew this big, strong beer, true to the Leviathan Series. Pilsner malt is the classic ingredient of this classic style and the Carafoam malt produces a nice, frothy head. This malt mixture combined with Czech Saaz hops, the quintessential hop of the style, yields an assertive but not overly aggressive beer. The finish is dry with a lingering floral hop character.

Clear, light gold pour, minimal head. Aroma holds lots of grain, toasted sesame, and a bit of hop bitterness. Sweet malt flavor, grain, a bit of citrus hop- nothing complex, but a tasty lager. Solid for the style.

Pours a three finger white head that fades slowly leaving a very good lace. Clear pale amber color. light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Sweet pine nose. Flavor is sweet pine. Slight bitterness in aftertaste. Decent pilsner. The high ABV is hidden. $2.75 for a 12oz bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, VT.

Draft. Pours transluscent golden with a thin white head. Aroma of citrus, apple, hops, yeast, and hints of coconut and banana. Medium bodied with a crispy, slightly tangy mouthfeel. Good pils.

hazy orange straw with thick frothy offwhite head and quality lacing. sweet toasty aroma, very yeast-y and bready, with crisp bittersweetness and an alcohol tinge. deep fruity flavors combined with more classic crisp hoppyness. sweet with a very dry finish. medium body and high carbonation, alcohol is barely present but there’s a slightly odd aftertaste of vegetables and toothpaste.

12oz. bottle from VBM. Pours a slightly hazy body with a thin white head. Aroma is strong lemony citrus, honey with malts floral notes and alcohol. Flavor is crisp spicy, hoppy. Medium bodied tangy tongue tingling mouthfeel. Alcohol is hidden pretty well. Overall a well put together beer. Nothing too exciting.

Golden yellow pour with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malt, some graininess, caramel, and a slight hop bitterness. Flavor is sweet light sugar malt, sweet citrus, and a mild bitterness. Palate is full for the style- smooth finishing resinously.
