It pours a clear, appetizing golden amber with a decent but not persistent white head. Flavor has a fierce but not overwhelming hop bitterness and has hints of fruit, malt and even butterscotch. Texture is glassy smooth with a good sharp hoppy-bitter edge. Overall pretty good. jerc (3954), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

(3+) Pleasant hoppy aroma, sweet floral and fruity hops. (7+) Flavour is a rather nice blend of sweet and bitter citrusy hops, mild malt base is supportive by not a major player. Touch of lemon comes out strongly after have a nip of cheese. Rather lovely. Smooth average plus palate. (3+) Very drinkable. Bottle from Premier Gourmet Cavie (1490), Fort Worth, Texas, USA

Big hop taste, mostly bitter upfront. Small sweet elements. Surprisingly smooth for a double. RHeastings (419), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 26, 2009 Enjoyed via draft in a pub glass. The beer pours a medium to slightly light-golden color with a white head. A perceptible, but refined, aroma of Columbus hops comes through in the nose, along with moderate malt aromas. The palate is a melange of hop bitterness and flavor up front, malty characters in the middle, and a bit of depth added by alcohol toward the finish. A very well-executed double IPA. smcolw (366), Wayland, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 26, 2009 Impressive large head that settles into a frothy dome. Lots of chunky and spotty lace. The liquid is hazy with an orange-amber color
Muted hop aroma of grapefruit citrus. Initially, I noted a slight plastic smell.
Strong bitter finish that lasts a long time after the swallow. The alcohol is notable but not overwhelming. Creamy mouthfeel--low carbonation.

Adequate carbonation maintains a thin film, white head. Hoppy aroma smells like citrus, pine, mildly sweet, floral bouquet. Palate is really, really bitter, and a little dry. Texture is a light syrup. Aftertaste is sweet and hoppy. Barrios (861), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
