Aroma is more malt than hops. I taste the hops more but the malt flavors overpower. The soapy flavor is not that pleasant. Could have been nice.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 2, 2009 12 ounce bottle. Pours a rusty amber golden, with a soft white head. The nose is ripe with with pine and tangerine. Plenty of robust caramel malts too. The flavor is full of pine and malt goodness, and it is as bitter as bitter gets. Medium body with ample carbonation and a balanced finish. Good stuff. Coltrane (108), South Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 1, 2009 Very nice IPA, although a bit sweet with not enough hop bitterness to counteract it. Nice citrus/flower taste and smell, but it doesn;t quite cut through the Double IPA market. Certainly well worth trying though. But a 4 pack is more than enough. antzman (313), Clarksville, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 31, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a medium gold with a decent sized white frothy head. Excellent lacing on the glass. The aroma was pretty light, almost disappointingly so. Little bit of citrus. The taste was really good though. While not a huge IPA, it had a great balance of malt and hops, while still ending with a great bitter taste. Good mouthfeel, very smooth. If the aroma had been better, this would rate as a great IPA. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 30, 2009 [Bottle] Pours deep gold with a good off-white head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is mildly hoppy (some lemon), but weaker than expected. A lot of malt and quite sweet. A little grassiness appears after allowing it to warm. Taste is sweeter than I thought that it would be. Very little hop bite, but a little pine and grapefruit to go along with the malt. Too sweet at times. Average mouthfeel, fairly smooth, and good finish where hops are finally more apparent. Drinkable, but really not a very good IIPA in my opinion. alobar (1056), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 29, 2009 Cloudy amber color with a white soapy head. Grapefruit, hops aroma with pine. Thicker mouth feel with a nice combination as hops, grapefruit with some pine. A bit too sweet for this style. demitriustown (708), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 29, 2009 12 oz bottle: Aroma is hops all the way, sticky, piney, grapefruity, and pineapple. Appearance is a golden/amber with a thick white head that lingers around for quite a while. Taste is more of an orange and pineapple hop to it than a grapefruit, but the hops come across as a really nice singular characteristic. Overall, Big on hoppy and I love hops but just need a little more something to make it a stellar brew. Cheers! bitbucket (2036), Kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | May 29, 2009 12oz. Pours clear bright copper with a fluffy, lacy white head. Immediate citrus aroma when the bottle is opened. My glass has the aroma of grapefruit, toffee. Medium body, surprisingly light carbonation. Taste of toffee and orange. The one weed in the garden is a sorta soapy note on the finish.
