Decent mouthfeel but the brew itself feels rough around the edges and doesn’t seem to come together all that well. I liked it for sure, but it was missing that extra intangible which takes it to the next level. That being said, it is still a pretty good beer, although the the style brings high expectations. I did enjoy my time with it and will probably end up drinking it again. I would like to try the rest in this series. branspra (225), Arlington, Virginia, USA

Aromas of grapefruit, pine, and some light raisins. Lively mouthfeel with a creamy finish. Tastes of grapefruit throughout with a nice pine finish. This is a hop monster beer that I will be sure to ensure going forward. sigma23 (235), , Maine, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 28, 2009 pours bright gold with fairly large white head. aroma is oozing hops with lots of citrus and a fair about of piney bitter hops. some caramel malt comes through the nose but its slight. drinks with a puckering amount of citrus followed quickly by an intense bitter pine/floral hop but smoothed out with a decent amount of light roast malt. bitter citrus dominates the finish. alcohol is there but not something that gets in the way. fantastic brew FishManLA (297), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 24, 2009 On tap at The Barley Oak, Mandeville, LA. Pours a medium amber color with a medium sized fairly persistent head. Nose is floral and slightly fruity. Extremely flavorful with hops and malt battling it out for dominance with a result that’s ultimately an excellent balance. Hops finally win the battle and provide a hop-head finish. This is really good stuff! Certainly best enjoyed during a cool Autumn evening in a small glass, as this is definitely a sipper to be relished for a long time. AmEricanbrew (1880), Washington DC, USA
