Clear mahogany red with a creamy head. Malty caramel plum and raisin aroma. Medium body. Tangy caramel malt flavor with some noble hops and raisin. Nice enough Craft version of the style.

Bottle. Pours black with a small white head. Aroma is malty, with a bit of chocolate. Taste a bit of malt, with a chocoate and coffee taste. Ends with a little bite, than turns dry. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours a very dark, almost black color into my pint glass. Small evaporating tan head. Sweet aroma that foreshadows the flavors of roasted malt and coffee. Nice sticky lacing. Finishes with some bitterness.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Pour produced a dark red-brown body topped with a mostly diminishing, small tan head. Chocolate malts are evident in its aroma. Full mouthfeel with a quickly diminishing bittersweetness, giving way to a strong bitter coffee palate, with mild hops. I would have liked a slightly sweeter finish, though. I felt that the finish was too dry.

Smells very similar to the rest of the harpoon beers, very sticky sweet malt smell with a hint of roasted dark malts. Taste is wonderful coffee and chocolate malts with a nice balance of hops. Delicious.
