| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 10, 2007 Good sized light brown head of medium sized bubbles. Pretty dense. Light carbonation. Rich roasty aroma with some rootbeer, brown sugar, sweet malts, and some dark fruit. Color is a very dark port brown. Dry and roasty palate with a hint of smoke in the background. Hint of bitterness. Moastly roasted grains and malts. Finishes dry and a little bit bitter. A pretty tasty brew. Better than I expected but nothing special. Delirium (498), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 7, 2007 Bottle. Pours dark brown/ruby with a moderate, quickly dissipating, tan head. Sweet and fruity malt aroma, with caramel and cherries. Flavor is sweet and roasted malt, again with cherries and maybe some vanilla, and ending with a bit of tart fruit and hops. Seems to have a bit of bock character mixed in with the dunkel. Pretty good. wilderthanyou (417), Guelph, Ontario, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 24, 2007 Pours a dark ruby red colour, barely any head. Aroma is of chocolates and malts. Flavor of toffee, bitter chocolate and malts. I found though that this beer felt rather watery, and the flavors felt almost subdued, not really reaching their full potential, hops were very very faint, I found the finish to be kind of sweet. Not a bad beer or anything, but I don’t think I will purchase it again. JasonG (700), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
