Aroma of roast and slight fruit. The flavor was mostly roasted malts, somewhat black licorice, and citrus hops adding to a bitter finish. Good body, decent brew. Earlier Rating: 3/31/2006 Total Score: 3.2 Bottle. Pours brown with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel and sweet malts. Flavor is caramel, malty, sweet, and slight hoppy presence in finish. Very nice body, but just a decent and forgetable brew. jcr (1177), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 15, 2006 Light brown pour with small head. Sweet, malty aroma with hints of caramel, molasses. The flavor, too, leaned toward the sweet side — toffee, caramel, chocolate. Medium body. Smooth finish. I liked this refreshing beer. Braudog (3770), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 9, 2006 Bottle: Dark red -- light tn head. Very bitter aroma ... almost barley-wine-ish. The flavor is fairly robust ... bitter and sharp, a candied malt. This is one of those beers that grew on me more and more as I drank it ... pretty darn good.
