Commercial Description:
Inspired by the centuries-old Bavarian beer, our Harpoon Munich Dark has a dark, balanced maltiness complimented with a moderate hop finish. We introduced this beer in 1998 and received first prize for Best Beer Overall of 1998 in BarleyCorn Magazine

On draft at Doyle’s Cafe. Pours dark with a one finger thick off white head. Aroma of roast and slight fruit. The flavor was mostly roasted malts, somewhat black licorice, and citrus hops adding to a bitter finish. Good body, decent brew.

Bottle. Pours brown with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel and sweet malts. Flavor is caramel, malty, sweet, and slight hoppy presence in finish. Very nice body, but just a decent and forgetable brew.

Light brown pour with small head. Sweet, malty aroma with hints of caramel, molasses. The flavor, too, leaned toward the sweet side — toffee, caramel, chocolate. Medium body. Smooth finish. I liked this refreshing beer.

Bottle: Dark red -- light tn head. Very bitter aroma ... almost barley-wine-ish. The flavor is fairly robust ... bitter and sharp, a candied malt. This is one of those beers that grew on me more and more as I drank it ... pretty darn good.

Bottle Pours a muddy black brown with a light brown creamy head. The head slowly deminshes but produces good lacing. Has a nice chocolate aroma with a pinch of hoppiness. Has a light carbination with a robust medium body. Has a rocky texture with a good flavor. Has a bold finish. I like it.

Very dark color, off white head. Smells bitter but not much of a bitter taste. Very light tast but had flavor. Very good.

Nice Dunkel. Its a dark reddish brown color and an off-white head. Unique candied malt aroma with an equal roasted malt sweetness. balanced with a medium bitter finish. 4th bottle of a mix pack I bought at Green’s on Ponce.

This was from a mixed case. It had a nice crisp malty flavor over a soft caramel-laden finish which was easy to swallow and drink.
