| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 2, 2004 This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of fine to medium sized light brown colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a fair lacing. The body was transparent softly carbonated and dark brown colored. The aroma was nice with malty brown beer like notes. The month feel was smooth and mildly tingly. The flavors contained notes of roasted brown beer malts and it reminded me of a Doppelbock. A good dunkel but not outstanding. hotstuff (3183), Indiana, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | May 3, 2004 Sweet malty aroma...Chocolate, nuts, carmel, a little breadiness. Very dark medium bodied brew with a quickly disappearing tan head. A little harsh at first taste. The finish is very pleasant. All of the aromas also present in the finish. Notalush made a comment about it tasting homebrewed which I totally agree with. A buddy of mine is still trying to find his nitch brewing and all his beers have that initial bad bitterness that’s present here. Even after breathing a few minutes, it’s still there but not as bad. From what I understand, that’s how a dunkel is supposed to taste.
