Bottle. Malty aroma with caramel and a little fruit. Deep dark reddish body, small off-white head. Flavor is deliciously malty, with some roastiness and caramel sweetness. There is bitterness in the finish. Very good Dunkel.

12oz bottle: Chocolatey-brown pour with a soft beige head that leaves instantly. A nice balance of ripe bananas and bready malt greets the nose. Very simple, but effective. Medium bodied, the malts display a nice biscuity profile, with undertones of baked bread and sweet chocolate. The yeast gets lost here though, so there is little contribution that I can detect. Finishes sweet with a touch of grassy bitterness. Solid example.

Pours a very dark brown with a lite brown/white forming head. Looks creamy at first but not so smooth. Leaves a bit of a bitter taste to the mouth so I’m not all that on the palate. Good overall for me but im not the dunkel type.

(bottle - 12 oz) Ruby red pour with a very puffy and lasting 1/4 inch tan head. Aroma is light and chocolaty with a very pronounced maltiness. Flavor is rather roasty with some hints of malt, caramel, toffee, and very light coffee. Thin bodied but pretty tasty.

Poured a dark brown with a tan head and slight lacing. Chocolaty and malty aroma with a taste to match. Nice roasty flavor with a very slight hop finish. Not bad.

A decent beer but it definitely tastes like an imitation of the original. A nice lager to drink though.

12 oz bottle, part of the Harpoon Winter Twelve Pack. Average beer, drinks easy with a bit of roasted taste, but nothing more to it than that. Has a lot of work to do to be a good beer.

Pretty average brew. Pours as expected, dark brown with some ruby. Nose is malty, earthy, leafy hops, sweet. Easy to drink, mlid sweetness, malty, a mild hop bitterness.
