Bottle - best by 080308. Poured dark brown with a light tan head that settles to a ring quickly and left light lacing. Initial aroma of chocolate syrup but settles out to a chocolate and coffee malt mix. The flavor has sweet molasses, chocolate and a light roast with a slight hop background. Medium body that was sweet upfront and bitter in the end.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with a thick light tan head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor of light roasted malts with a sweet finish. Light bodied. This beer has some slight lager like characteristics, but it is more like a light porter than a dunkel. It is pretty good though.

Poured a clear deep red-brown color with a small off-white head. The aroma is malty with some roasty cola notes and light chocolate. Roasted malt with lots of caramel and some dark chocolate. Just about a medium body.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a medium-sized tan head. Aromas are a little bit chocolaty with dark malt and a kind of dusty air. Flavor starts with a little bit of an annoying sweet darkness, which yields to an earthy peat phase before finishing watery. This is OK, but not great.

Pours dark mahogany into a shaker. Off-white head quickly recedes leaving no lacing. Dark spciy caramel aromas. Dry and malty with a lasting caramel finish.

Pretty dark, considering they filter the tar out of the beer. Deep dark brown in color, with a head that will settle down to a thin layer. It is opaque. This is not a bad looking beer. I smell a little roast or smokiness in the aroma. Also, there is a slight coffee aroma too! Crap, this beer actually smells quite good, and I love the nuances of the aroma. The flavor is muted, BIG TIME. This beer has coffee, and a nutty roast taste to it. Also, it is very malty indeed! The beer just doesn’t have a damn palate to it. The flavors aren’t able to grab on to my tongue because this crap is so thin. It is like that one night I drank my urine expecting something nice and tart i.e. a complete let down! Overall, nice and dark with a great smell just not a great palate and a great flavor. There are a lot of different flavors, my tongue just can’t seem to grab them and force them into submission!

Bottle. Pours an amber body with a small tan head. Light chocolate and caramel malt with a light hoppiness, dark fruit, very smooth and drinkable. Light smoke and coffee character. Good beer.
