pours dark ruby red with a decent fine bubbled head that gets regenerated by the effervecent bubbling. the aroma is off, exuding a weird chemical metallic smell. taste is strong in coffee and chocolate with a strong hoppy aftertaste. its ok but there are better dark beers out there instead.

quickly fading head. Smell is not very appealing, but not appalling. Malty aftertaste is very nice. High Five!!

Bottle from six-style mixed pack pours a dark, reddish brown with a tan head that quickly fades but leaves some lacing along the glass. The aroma consists of roasted malts, hazlenut, and burnt sugar/caramel. Flavor is full and sweet from the malts but some bitterness provided by the presence of hops. The carbonation give a nice bite on the tongue.

On tap at the brewery. Ruby dark brown with a beige head, Slightly roasted nutty aroma. Has a nice roasted and anise flavor that gets better as it warms. Nice, but not very german.

BoTM, Pours a nice dark brown. Slight tan head. A sweet malty odor, with some kind of funk aftersmell. I opened up a second one just to make sure it wasn’t a bad bottle but I get something off with both. Not a lot of flavor, but what’s there is nice. Not to overpowering, a nice gentle beer.

Nice brown color with a frothy tan head. Almost looked like root beer. Had a nice malty flavor with a slight caramel taste. Not too bad!

The epitome of an average beer. No real flavor, aroma or taste.... but no bad ones either. Its almost like its just not there.

has a nice sweet malty/hop aroma to it, body perhaps a tad thin, has a bit of a roast malt flavor to it, maybe a hint of chocolate.
