| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 4, 2009 pours a clear chestnut brown color with a thick and foamy light tan head...nice lacing! nice roasty aroma with some chocolate notes and subtle nuttiness. flavor definitely displays the roastiness with a niced spicy hop to it as well...chocolate notes are lost though. slightly burnt flavor in the end carries into the aftertaste...light to medium lively mouthfeel is a bit creamy...but it thins out quickly in the end...almost a watery finish with a lingering burnt aftertaste. jeff789 (399), Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 30, 2009 Pours a clear dark brown with amber tints, smallish yet sustained head, some lacing... Clean caramel and roast malt aroma, no real hoppiness, doesnt seem sweet... Clean flavors of malt, some sweetness, and a touch of bittering hops at the end, chocolate notes come out as it warms... Touch dry and watery in the finish... Worth a shot, good offering.... RickTStiles (40), New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 29, 2009 Aroma is roasty malt with some German chocolate. Taste is light but characteristic of a Dunkel. Nutty with lots of dark malt flavor and a brief hint of sweetness. finishes bitter and slighly damp but overall pretty nice. There aren’t too many mass market dunkels that I’m aware of so this stands out for that reason above all else. tgncc (818), Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Decent beer overall. The aroma is chocolate, nuts, brown sugar. The flavor follows exactly. the appearance is a dark brown, ruby highlights. The finish is light hop bittering, with a competing brown sugar residue as well. The mouthfeel is thin/medium, some carbonation bubbles noted. Enjoyable, and sesionable. Not bad at all. williamherbert (466), Syracuse, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Aroma is coffee grounds and light dark chocolate. Like a porter, really.
Appears ruby-red brown. Nice rocky head that sticks around. Still, clear enough to see through. (No imperfections!!!!!!&
Flavor is light, crisp lager backborne, but with some coffee malt and mocha chocolate notes. Light enough to be a lager (with German malts). Minor (very minor) woody/oak hop at the end.
Feels smooth like a lager, but has an unusual (good) bite on the way down. It’s nice and dark, but light enough for the layman. Solid. Jblauvs (586), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

Nutty with light banana wood and caramel malt with molasses in the nose. Clean caramel malt flavor upfront with some burnt molasses and a bit of light nuttiness. Simple yet tastey. Fruity malt flavour. Quite sweet. Not much hop presence. A little sticky. Not especially bad, just not my thing.
