kkearn (650), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 4, 2008 12oz bottle; best by 12/05/08. Pours brownish amber, capped with a medium sized tan head. Nose is mainly sweet caramel, with some grain and nuttiness. Very sweet malt flavor, with some bready malt, chocolate, nuts, toffee and a hint of smoke. OK US intrepretation. I remember really enjoying this about 5 years ago, it didn’t make quite the impact tonight. ucusty (1062), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 28, 2008 Transparent orange pour, looks like fall. Malty aroma. Flavor is malts, hops, and a dry finish. DrDavid (187), , Vermont, USA Aug 27, 2008 (Bottle). Malt in the aroma. Color is clear orange red with a small head. Flavor is a caramel malt that finishes with distinctive dry malts and a touch of balancing hops. Quite nice. JPDIPSO (4232), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Aug 16, 2008 First octoberfest of the season. Clear copper color with a moderate, but thick and stable off white head. Initial hints of DMS are driven off by a big dose of caramel. A touch of toasted malt and some dry floral hops waft about as well. Decent toasty malt flavors in the front. Toffee and herbal hops in the middle. Fairly dry in the finish. Not much depth to charge the senses and have one dreaming of a bright fall day. An amber lager with a touch more toasted malt. RichJ7 (886), Cullman, Alabama, USA May 8, 2008 Reddish orange pour with a small beige head. Malty nose with a touch of caramel and wood. Sweet, malty and pretty true to style. Mildly bitter finish. Not bad.
