Commercial Description:
Several malts, including Munich and chocolate, deliver the malty character. The delicate hop aroma is not overpowering and the Willamette hops provide a gentle bitterness which balance well with the residual sweetness.

Draft @ Coles, Buffalo NY. Chestnut brown pour. Medium rich malty aroma. Notes of caramel & light chocolate. Nice malt driven flavor, lightbitterness in the finish. Decent Ocoberfest

12oz. Soft fruit aroma, Apricot or plum, I can’t quite name it, might be the hops. Also some fruity esters. Warm round malt up front and slightly funny bitterness to finish. Wonderful malty flavors, really hit the spot and brings me to autumn even though it’s 9 degrees outside. Yay beer!

Light amber brown color, thin head. Average ofest. Some light spice and biscuit aroma and flavor. Fresh from tap 11.09 but have had before. A bit of an earthy flavor, some dirty spices and lingering odd bitter spice flavor.

Bottle - pours an amber color with a thin tan head. Malty, caramal and nutty aroma. Taste is a malt heavy one as you would expect in an Oktoberfest. Also has some caramel, biscuit and sugary notes. I didn’t really pick up any of the chocolate malts but otherwise a pretty decent brew.

Bottle. Poured a nice amber color with a big off white head. Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, and mild hops. Nice easy drinking and well balanced. Not as full bodied as some other octoberfests but still good.

On tap at Harpoon Brewery, 8 October 2009. Quite dark copper colour. Fairly dry malt. Not too bready. Mellow mouthfeel with a touch of residual sweetness but not too much. Hops are mainly a little earthy. The Willamette hops may not be exactly traditional for an Octoberfest but they do add a welcome, slightly citric biiterness. Decent stuff.
