Sep 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours an orange-amber, with a nice head. Sweet, malty aroma, with a touch of hops. Rye is definitely apparent in the flavor, which is also unusually sweet and malty for a red rye ale. Alcohol nicely balances the caramel and toffee malts, keeping them from being too cloying. A fairly good beer, though not what I was expecting.

Aug 28, 2008 Transparent red pour with frothy head and spotty lace. Piney hops on the nose. Malts and hops for flavor. Alcohol well masked.

Aug 21, 2008 Bottle: Poured a clear red color ale with a nice foamy head with average retention and no lacing. Aroma of bitter hops with nice caramel malt profile are very well balance. Taste is also a well balance mix between some deep caramels with subtle nuts with a medium bitter hoppy finish. Body is quite full with some good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very well done overall and easily drinkable.

Aug 21, 2008 Bright orangey-red colour. Mild toasty, caramelly aroma. Toasty caramel taste, lots of rye character and chewy breadcrust. Decent.

Aug 21, 2008 22oz bottle-pours a rich to rocky light tan head that laces and amber/copper color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-caramel, nutty, perfumy. Taste is sweet medium malt-caramel, nutty, perfumy. Crisp, dry.
