clear ruby red, wiapy beige head disappears to leave a sparking glass of clear red delight,
huge sweet banana and chocolate aroma, touch of alcohol melds well into the sweetness,
creamy body,
rich malt flavor, lots of sweet banana combined with dark caramel, nice chocolate character is well in balance with the banana and caramel, only a hint of balancing clove,

Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jun 3, 2008 Objectively speaking:
Another rather disappointing Harpoon whose flavours head in all direction at once without creating an impression of complexity.
I like:
Not overbearing alcohol presence. Fun Munich nutty tang.
I dislike:
While present, the wheat never feels like it can provide enough drinkability to compensate the aggressive banana bread soaked in caramel sweetness. Escaping fruity leanings. Rough yeasty finish that remains all bread. Thin-bodied.
CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Feb 12, 2008 Pours a transparent deep amber mahogany with ruby hues and a thin, wispy-lacing light tan head. Sweet dark caramel and malted wheat nose has some brown sugar and light fruity esters. Starts fairly full bodied and sweet with some light citrus and clove flavors and a touch of authentic German yeast. Not quite as balanced and complex as some other weizenbocks, but pretty drinkable. muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Dec 28, 2007 22 ounce bottle from City Market in Burlington, VT (December 2007) served a little below cellar temperature from a Ramstein weizen glass. The frothy tan medium-bubbled head fills over half the glass but dies away quickly above the clear maple body, leaving hardly a trace of lacing.....powerful brown-sugar banana sweetness dominates the nose on first uncapping, only hints of spices; with some warmth the aroma is more subdued, spices enter subtly, a bit of vanilla arrives....the body offers a nice malty, lightly smoky-burnt character, but unfortunately it’s too watery and thin to really hold up, and the bitterness and dryness at the finish aren’t really appropriate....sweetens a bit as it warms; carbonation is moderate and reasonably natural-feeling....this is on the whole rather mediocre for a weizenbock, though I must say the alcohol isn’t apparent at all; a little above average for this brewer though.
