Commercial Description:
UFO Pale Ale is our twist on a traditional British Pale Ale. It pours a vibrant amber color with a medium malt body and an assertive hop character throughout. This beer is well balanced, with grassy, flowery hop flavors and aromatics. Like the rest of our UFO beers we leave it UnFiltered for more natural taste, a soft, full mouthfeel, and a distinctive cloudy appearance. UFO Pale Ale is perfect for an autumn’s evening, a night out or just a change of pace. We hope you enjoy drinking it as much as we enjoy brewing it! Cheers!

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a pint glass. The color is hazy orange with a foamy white head and some nice lacing. The smell is of some really sweet sugary malt flavor. Some hints of citrus hops and a bit of a wheat smell as well. The taste is a bit tangy with some bitter citrus hops as well as some fruitiness as well. A slight lemon and orange flavor is present. The beer is quite light and quite easy drinking. It goes down pretty well almost as an after thought and there is no bitter aftertaste.

Sample at the Smugglers Notch BrewFest - Poured a nice orange-amber in color with a medium white head that settled to a thin covering over the beer. Aroma is mild of citrus hops. Flavor is medium hoppy (citrus/pine) with plenty of fruitiness. Some malty balance to it all. Finish is medium bitter and hoppy. Just OK...

Bottle. Golden orange with a white head. Nice herbal and floral hoppy aroma with a little bit of sweet malt. The flavor is well balanced, with some floral hoppy notes and crackery malts. Just a touch of sweetness. Pretty good.

Tap at The Pony. Muddy yellow-brown pour with a tight, creamy white head. The nose is lightly hoppy with a kiss of light citrus and some nice fruity esters. Grapefruit and light cherry. The palate is quite nice. Fairly doughy without being overly sweet. Yeasty tasting, but it kind of works here. As it warms up the hoppiness begins to take on a herbal component. Fresh tasting and not at all muddy, in spite of it looking like a milkshake. I’m surprised that I like this as much as I do. Lingering apple sweetness and a bit of light spice.

A golden ale with a thin receeding white head. A ligthly hopped aroma, with a bit of boiled beans. In mouth, a rather restrained pale ale, veering on a lager, with crips malt, light hopping, mineral notes, non-descript. On tap at Harpoon Tap House, Logan Airport, Nov. 11 2009.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of hops, malts, and slight tropical fruits. Poured orange/amber in color with a medium-sized, creamy, rocky, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Very sparkling. Full of tiny, small, and medium-sized particles throughout. Very good lacing. Flavor is slightly sweet and slightly bitter. Tastes of hops, malts, grains, and a hint of tropical fruit. Medium body. Average texture. Average to lively carbonation. Grain, malt, and hop finish. Very boring but drinkable.

Picked this up at an Deli on 39th and 2nd. Pours a hazy golden hay color, looks very nice. Taste is light, some hop and hay. Some dough and grass in the finish. Very unimpressive.

On tap at Harpoon Brewery, 8 October 2009. Hazy gold. Good condition, not much head. Restrained mix of fruity malt and tangy hop. Light, but firm, mouthfeel. Pretty similar to the Harpoon Ale. More English style than US. Straightforward, undemanding easy drinking.
