Commercial Description:
Brewed using Belgian Ale yeast makes this beer big, rich and full of fruitiness. Palate is rich and subtle malty. Full bodied sweetness dominates most of the palate but dies to a dryer finish with a herbal/phenol crisp hop bitterness.

500ml bottle. Nice light copper hue with quickly diminishing white bubbly head, good lacing. Fruity spicy aromas, and flavour.- especially banana and orange. Sweet and spicy, finishing dry and mildly bitter-sweet. Didn’t immediately impress me but got nicer the more I drank of it. Nice

Bottle. Pours a clear deep brassy gold with orange highlights. Rapidly rising head shows only medium retention before collapsing into a ring around islands of foamy flotsam. Sweet phenolic aroma, some banana, some dried straw, some sweet spice. Palate is sweet and spicy, marzipan, banana, spices, chamomille. Finish is warm, but smooth. Missing some complexity, but not a bad effort.

Bottle. Pours orange with a thin white head. Rich in fruit and spicy aromas, as well as alcohol and yeast. Not sure what they’re trying to do here but definitely falls short on the palate. Fruit and alcohol phenols in the finish.

Aroma is sweet bubblegum malt, with fresh peaches. Hardly any trace of the high alcohol, However it is present in the taste. Flavours have floral (rose) hops, and fruits such as peach, apple and green grapes. Nice and clean.

Purchased 01.08.09 at New World Frankton, NZ, 500ml bottle, 8% alcohol. Pours orange gold, thin off white head. Aroma is yeasty, malty, dried fruit. Flavor is the same with smokiness and some subtle hops. The alcohol is noticeable.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of yeast and banana and some diacetyl also. Medium body with tart fruit notes, yeast and diacetyl. The finish is dry. I agree with Craig that this is closer to a Tripel than the brewery’s own Saison suggestion. Harrington’s seem a bit confused about this "BelgiUM Tempest" - and a viking ship on the label?? But credit for trying to make a BelgiAN style beer which not many breweris do in NZ. 280108

Bottle (shared in the fine company of yalnikim), pouring a clear amber. The malty aroma was a little ’odd’. A very malty flavour, a little piney for me, and I get cardboard. Not sure what ’belgium beer’ this is meant to be....

Tasted 30/12/2007. 500ml bottle from BrewNZ takeaways. Bright pale gold, with a disappearing white head. Citrus, alcohol and sweet malt play centre stage in this lightly hopped strong ale. I’m pretty much in agreement with Craig on this one, it’s not all that "Belgian" but it does taste like a reasonable strong fruit beer.
