Quite full-bodied with plenty of sweet malt and brewing syrup. The finish is clean, crude alcohol. Drinkable though. 210208 DuffMan (2786), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Aug 1, 2009 Bottle, drank as part of a Harrington’s lager night. Standard clear gold, white head that retains only briefly. Corn syrupy malt aroma with some fusels that I don’t like. Flavour is same cereal malt, sweet, with intusive alcohol heat that finishes roughly. A tasty malt liquor? Haven’t had one yet. bluevegie (2228), Perth, Australia
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Apr 30, 2009 Short lived head on a clear golden body. Light malt aroma with malt in the taste, smooth, warming alcohol and not much else. Not bad for a malt liquor but that is not my favourite style. TheGrandMaster (1880), Auckland, New Zealand
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 11, 2008 Bottle, pours a clear and dark gold with a white creamy head. A light aroma of sweet malt, a little bready. A full mouthfeel, very bitter on the palate, with a creamy sweet malt flavour. The strong alcohol presence ("crude" as Papsoe writes) makes it a difficult swallow and I’m suprised this comes in a 500ml bottle. Different though, I’ll give them that. zebracakes (1219), Washington DC, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 14, 2009 Purchased 01.08.09 at New World Frankton, NZ, 500ml bottle. Pours hazy gold, white head. Aroma is kiwi, tangerine. Flavor is hoppy and sweet, bitter and syrupy. I can taste the alcohol, it warms a bit. Could be better blended but this is the best malt liquor I’ve ever had. nate2g (1149), Brisbane, Australia
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Apr 12, 2009 Bottle. Golden with a white head. Big malt and alcohol aroma. The flavour is the same. No bitterness whatsoever. Has that alcohol warming in the finish. Easy to drink. I sure didn’t pick this up in anticipation of a complex beer...a few pints though and you may wake up the next day in a compromised situation. Kaya161 (1129), San Diego, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jun 8, 2002 Interesting that a respectable brewery like a Harrington’s would make what could only be classified as a malt liqour. Even so, it’s definitely the best malt liqour that I’ve ever had. A quality deep golden colour, with a thin white head. Malty and warming, but with enough hops to provide some balance and even some Saaz for aroma. My only complaint is that it doesn’t come in a 40oz bottle. beerledgend (919), Waterloo, Wellington, New Zealand
