Josh's poor translation of the Finnish description: Hartwall Dark Lager is a dark bottom-fermented beer. Special dark malts give the beer a caramelly taste. It also has Czech saaz aroma hops. Alcohol 5%, gravity 12.6 Plato, colour 82 EBC, bitterness 18 IBUs, energy 45 cal/100g Hartwall Dark Lager on tumman pehmeä pohjahiivaolut. Tummat erikoismaltaat antavat oluelle makeahkon, karamellimaisen maun; tuoksussa tuntuu tsekkiläisen Saazer-jalohumalan aromi. Alk. 5,0 til-%; kantavierre 12,6 p-%; väri 82 EBC; katkerot 18 EBU; energia 45 kcal /100 g

Dark brown color, thick head, slightly lace. Full, smooth and balanced, bitter. Smooth and pretty long finish.

(500 ml bottle, in Helsinki). Dark brown colour, good head, moderate but decent aroma - and then: Bland, boring flavour when you expect the richness of a good dunkel. Short aftertaste. Disappointing. All Norwegian dunkels are better than this Finnish stuff.

Dark brown with creamy head. Neutral roma. Roasty, but thin. Low bitterness. One-dimensional.

What flavor? For a dark lager this is a real disappointment. Bland, with no taste. Come ON, guys, you can do better than that! This is mildly flavored water with some alcohol thrown in.

A nice dark beer. Bit burnt taste. Perhaps could use a bit more flavor.
