Commercial Description:
Cask; Seasonal - December.
Christmas Ale is a strong "Barley Wine" brewed to a strength similar to the beers produced by the Tudor brewers in the time of Queen Elizabeth 1. This dark, heavily hopped Seasonal Brew is an ideal accompaniment to the festive season. A Merry Christmas to all.

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A chestnut brown beer with a thin light tan head. The aroma has notes malt, caramel, as well as lighter notes of notes and spices. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of malt, caramel, hops, alcohol, and very ripe berries, leading to a bitter and alcoholic finish.

Handpulled cask at the Royal Oak Borough before Xmas. Deep amber with a thin off white head. Sickly sweet, malty sugaryness and plenty of alcohol. Where are the hops? This used to be a very well balanced beer for it’s strength a few yearsa ago. Sadly no more.

On cask at Redlight. Pours a thin and smooth dark cherry color with little in the way of carbonation and not much head. Aroma is cherries, alcohol, honey and a little licorice. Flavor is more honey, spices and a little orange peel.
