on cask at Royal Oak (London - Borough). Clear, light gold pour with an average white frothy head. Floral, slightly herbal and woody malt aroma, reminded me of clover and woodchips (does Harveys use an odd yeast? Every cask beer of theirs seems to remind me of woodchips). The taste was very light and floral, a nice golden ale, quick finishing and a touch cedary. Light bodied, mildly astringent, softly carbonated and while not very memorable makes for a clean light pint.

Pale straw haloed with white. Aroma canal, unidentified fruit (maybe apple). Hints of pear and apple in the mouth, straw, chalk, oats, that dusty dankness underpinning everything. Peppery hop dryness again. Wheaty, floury afters in the nose. Dust and dankness. Underwhelming.

Cask @ Market Porter. Clear golden color, short head. Soft hoppy nose, bit grassy, some lemon. Citrussy, bitter taste, with a moderate bitter malty finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Royal Oak, SE1 1/8/08.Deep golden in colour with a slight, off-white head. Spicy yeast aroma with a touch of apricot. Fruity malt flavour with more yeast and a short, dry finish. Good.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Lord Nelson, Brighton. An orange coloured bitter. Again full of that Harveys pepper. Excellent condition, forming lace even without a head. Smooth and drinkable if a little short in the finish. A nice beer though.
