Commercial Description:
Pasteurised and bottled version of Gunpowder
"Reminiscent of the strong beers and 'October Ales' brewed during the seventeenth century in the country estates of the gentry and nobility; strong malt sugars are boiled, heavily hopped, fermented and matured to produce a bitter-sweet beer with a high spirit content. (Brewed for the quatercentenary of 'The Discovery of the 1605 Gunpowder Plot')."

Bottle.- Hoppy and fairly malty nose. The taste is dominated by a seville orange bittersweetness, and some malty, nutty undertones, and a dry and slightly alcoholic aftertaste. - I really enjoyed this one !

Bottle. - Dark chestnut colour. The nose is pretty alcoholic, with some nutty notes. The taste is a very soft, smooth, malty, nutty, spicy, fruity and lingering experience. -Highly recommendable!

Bottle. Full on hop sap aroma. Flavour is quite sweet orangey and hoppy. Sweet malt characters. Some warming alcohol in the finish. I don’t think it was bottled conditioned, so it does have a slight dead character, but to be honest this was very tasty, but very sweet.

Bottle. Great looking chestnut colour with a creamy off-white head. Lovely rich aroma; malty, fruity, some vanilla. Thank God for that; taste doesn’t disappoint; sweet and malty, caramel and spices and great balancing hops. Full bodied, smooth and creamy. Fantastic.
