SilkTork (3881), Rochester, Kent, England Oct 11, 2005 Garland, Redhill. Prominent malt and hops, fully integrated and balanced. Splendid fresh flavours. A scintillating and fascinating beer, with that wonderful oaky Harveys note. Awesome. If only all beers could be this good. It is the freshness, the balance, the harmony, and the individual Harveys character that mark this out.
Svesse (1700), Hässelby, Sweden Aug 25, 2008 (Bottle, Royal Oak, Borough, London, 8 Aug 2008) Amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity nose with orange, caramel and citrussy hops. Fruity taste with notes of citrus, orange and a decent dash of citrussy hops in the finish. Rather sweet, but tasty and nice. (Shouldn’t there be a bottle version entry of this beer?) SaintMatty (485), Tallinn, Estonia Aug 20, 2008 500ml Bottle (Royal Oak,London) - Amber coloured. Slightly peachy aroma. Moderately bitter and peachy taste which is rather refreshing. Reasonably impressive. Ethereal (894), London, Greater London, England Dec 27, 2007 500ml bottle. 6.5% ABV. Dark orange appearance. Hoppy aroma with a hint of caramel malt. Subtle flavour - caramel malt vying with hops. It’s a bit like an IPA that’s been sweetened up. Not bitter enough for my liking. thewolf (3631), Kolding, Denmark Dec 3, 2007 Cask @ YNWA, Kolding. Pours a golden deep orange with next-to-nothing head. Aroma is light caramel with a good dose of grassy hops and a little sulfur. Low carbonation. Flavour is very soft, lots of caramel at first. Then a surge of wonderful hops hit me, but maintains a great balance. Pine and flowers dominate, giving it a great dryness at the end. ChristianScheffel (2103), Odense, Denmark Nov 27, 2007 Copper with a lasting off-white head, leaving fine lace. Pungent grassy hops aroma, with some apples and caramel. Semi-sweet with some bitterness.
