Commercial Description:
The filtered bottle version of the 3.8% cask ale.
Note: This is not the beer that won Supreme Champion in 2003.
"Bottled with approximately 1/3rd less Carbon Dioxide than most beers. This results in a fresher more natural tasting beer. Combines Hallertau Hersbrücker with Challenger. Late hopped with Styrian Goldings, which gives a sharpness like the twist of a lemon."

pours a nice golden colour, small head which dissipates relatively quick. Really nice aroma on this beer. Flowery on the nose with perhaps some lemon or citrus. hoppiness in the taste but not overpowering, well balanced. Somehow seems to have a sweetness to the hops while drinking with a slightly bitter finish. low carbonation combined with slight but not overpowering bitter aftertaste makes for a very fresh and very drinkable beer. Not one to go crazy over but it is very good and easy drinking

500ml at LCBO. Clear gold with some bubbles and a large foamy white head with staying power. Faint hoppy aroma. Very tasty creamy lemon-strawberry, low carbonation, dry, bittersweet hops. Pleasantly surprised that it tasted much bigger than the alcohol content would indicate.

On nitro tap at the Oldsmar Tap House. Pours into an imperial pint glass a clear pale gold with firm bright white head. Nice looking beer. The aroma is mild with faint hints of citrus hops, floral hops and some malty sweetness. The initial impression of the flavor is its fresh, lively and sessionable. It starts with mild pale malt semi sweetness followed by a growing vague hop bitterness. Are the hops spicy, citrus, piney? Can’t tell. Toward the finish the hops combine with some malt sweetness to create a slight citrus hop sensation.

Hazy blonde with medium head. Aroma is filled with lemon and an array of unusual herbal hops. Flavors are quite floral, and graham cracker. The hop character is unusual and intriguing and subtle. Finishes dry, clean, crisp.

Bottle from Spar, Strahaven, Scotland. Great name !! Pours pale golden colour with a small frothy white head which gradually dissipated. Zingy citrus aroma with a hint of spice. Nicely crisp, balanced hoppiness, but lacks a knockout punch somehow. Teeters on the edge of being very good, but falls a bit short due to a certain thinness.

From a 500 ml bottle. Pours golden with an off-white head. It looks like a slightly higher quality US pale. Like the label says, almost no carbonation. It is very stagnant in that regard. A hoppy aroma but not overpowering. The flavor has a much stronger element of hops and a bit of citrus-like fruit. This is a pleasing brew overall.

Pours a rather delectable honey-gold with miniscule pure-white head. Aroma is quite nice, ranging from hibiscus flowers to citrusy peach, with a faint honey malt backbone. Pretty thin on the palate but smooth enough, the beer starts slightly tart with lemon, develops a mild pastry sweetness, and finishes with more English hop aromatics than bitterness and the slight dryness of a tart apple. A subtle and enjoyably simple quaffer.

This beer has everything I like. It is very light, its malt is clean, its aroma is complex such that you can’t simply point to a particular hop or a particularly descriptor like "herbal". It has a decidedly lemon-like quality which pops up every now and again. I really admire how they packed such an enormous amount of flavor into such a light and low-alcohol beer. If only more beers were like this, I would be happy. That, and if this thing weren’t so damned expensive.
