Commercial Description:
The filtered bottle version of the 3.8% cask ale.
Note: This is not the beer that won Supreme Champion in 2003.
"Bottled with approximately 1/3rd less Carbon Dioxide than most beers. This results in a fresher more natural tasting beer. Combines Hallertau Hersbrücker with Challenger. Late hopped with Styrian Goldings, which gives a sharpness like the twist of a lemon."

Pours a clear amble, with a white bubbly head. Strong hoppy aroma with plenty of citrus fruit. Smooth on the palate, releasing caramal malty flavour at first, but then overtaken by stronger citrus fruits (especially lemon). The finish brings a more grassy hop flavour and long bitterness. Nearly as good as the cask version.

Bottle poured a clear yellow with a small lingering white head. Aromas of bread, light citrus and a hint of earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of bread, lemon, light carmel and a hint of earthiness with a crisp lingering bitter finish.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury’s, Holborn. Shared with my friends at a hotel room in Kings Cross. Clear golden in body colour under a creamy, white head retention. Aromatic floral hops. Fruit cocktail flavour with notes of lemon, grapefruit, orange and melon. Nice bitter ending. Zesty and refreshing drinkability. Very moreish (01.02.2007).

Pours clear amber with a fast-fading white head. Aroma is almost nonexistant, perhaps a little hops-a little citrus. Some carbonation, light in the mouth with some kind of lemony notes, some grass...balence definately tilted away from malts...nice bitter finish...Very refreshing, this would be a superb "good hot day" brew or a fine session ale.
