Commercial Description:
The filtered bottle version of the 3.8% cask ale.
Note: This is not the beer that won Supreme Champion in 2003.
"Bottled with approximately 1/3rd less Carbon Dioxide than most beers. This results in a fresher more natural tasting beer. Combines Hallertau Hersbrücker with Challenger. Late hopped with Styrian Goldings, which gives a sharpness like the twist of a lemon."

This was great. Flavour carried a very hoppy, zesty, citrus-like feeling amongst the sudsy malty goodness. Mouthfeel was smooth, loving, and tender; yet this brew showed a subtle complexity found in most UK pub ales. The older I get, seems like I am reaching more for these kinds of beers... Actually, the whole time I was drinking this I thought I was drinking a Bitter. But this is classified as a Golden Ale/Blonde Ale! Interesting...and delicious.

Pours a clear golden color with a thin white head. Aroma and flavor of hops and malt, it’s also dry. The body is light and creamy while the carbonation is soft. Interesting.

Bottle 4.2%. For the amount of time this beer has sat in my fridge, roughly a year, this is delightfully hoppy. Pours a clear, thinner looking, golden with a small creamy white head. Unique aroma of mostly Hallertau with slightly less citrus hops. Flavor of bread crumbs, some cheesy noble hops, tart citrus, light butter, medium bitterness. Body is fairly thin with lighter sparse carbonation. Interesting?

Serving: 16.9 oz. bottle. Appearance: Slightly hazy, light orange, foamy white head. The head does a nice job of hanging around. Aroma: Distinctly... American?!?!? Bright floral and citrus hops with a touch of sweet malt. Really nice aroma. Taste: What a let down. Pretty much all bittering hops. Pine, a bit of citrus, watery, but strongly bitter. How disappointing! Mouthfeel: Medium-high carbonation with a light, watery mouthfeel. Medium, watery, bitter finish. Overall: if they are going for the "twist of a lemon" like the label states, they ended up with watery lemon pith. All show and no go. Rebuy: No.

Bottle at LCBO - Pours a nice deep orange with a good head. Smells fairly clean and zesty. The taste is fiarly good, with straight-forward hoppiness and zesty lemon/spices. I wouldn’t go as far to say that it’s the most refreshing thing out there, but at least it’s ok. Decent beer.
