Comments: Here goes one of the ultimate UK classics and it is a sourish, refreshing, zesty golden ale of high quality, but that I consider has been surpassed since it innovated.

Cask @ GBBF 2007, London. Clear medium yellow color with a small, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate hoppy, fruittree flower, fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery, carbonation is flat.

Cask conditioned at The Cask & Barrel, Edinburgh. Deep golden colour. Sweet, hoppy aroma. Fresh in flavour with notes of elder. Nice bitterness.

Cask conditioned at The Cask & Barrel, Edinburgh. Deep golden colour. Wonderfully citric aroma with balancing sweetish. Great balance of malt sweetness and hops, then comes an accompanying bitterness that is very pleasant. Bit of myrr. Bit of wet grass.

Cask conditioned at The Cask & Barrel, Edinburgh. Not in the very best condition, and served slightly too warm. Deep golden colour, creamy head. Nice zesty and fruity hop aroma, but should be even better. Distinctly hoppy flavour throughout, but not quite as zesty as it should be in its best condition.

(RBESG 2007, Cask at Tennent’s Bar, Glasgow) Golden with a white head. Fruity, citric aroma with hops and some spicy notes. Citric hop flavor with some sweeter fruit notes.

On draught at the Cloisters, Edinburgh: Golden, creamy firm white head, distinctive fruity (oranges, orange-peel) and floral hoppy nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, soft MF; dry, a bit tart and fruity, but mainly aromatic bitter finish. Superb beginning, mediocre finish..........

Cask@GBBF2007. Nice to finally find one of my favourite bottled UK beers as cask. Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is caramel, sweet nectary and tropical fruits along with slight grassy hoppy notes. Flavour is hops, fruits and quite nice grassy balance. Pleasant and excellent session cask ale.
