Bottle courtesy of bu11zeye. Dark brown pour. Very warm smell. Hints of whisky with wood. Aged elements. Dark bitter with warm coffee. Some caramel with a bit of smoked flavor as well. Sweet tobacco lingers on the finish. This is very nice.

12oz, I got at chevy chase wine and liquor, Admittedly I’ve seen and not purchased the 40m and saw this and was intrigued, since the 18 year mark is far more comon amongst Scotch’s. Pours black with a tan head. Nose is sweet malty and quite rich. Taste is sweet, malty and rich with some scotchy peaty notes. Pretty tasty.

On tap (out of a firkin!) at Brouwer’s "Great Scotts!" night. Zoe was right, this was one boozy mofo. Poured deep, dark brown, with some bubbles sort of resembling a head on top. Lots of roasty coffee, overpowering the molasses, chocolate and vanilla malts, but still striking a good balance of flavors. It ended up a little dilute, though admittedly I was expecting more of a big stout. Some definite scotch in the flavor, which I really liked - though it was a velvety scotch, almost resembling bourbon more than anything from the UK. Plenty of oak, and very tasty (plus... just cool to get it poured from a firkin. Really good.

330 ml bottle. Black body with a creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and vanilla. Flavor is smooth, rich, sweet, dark malt, roasted, dry fruit, oak, hops, vanilla, molasses and whisky. Full bodied and a long and warming aftertaste. Really nice, I actually found more aroma in the 16 years version but the flavor is smoother. Looking forward to sample these again quite soon.

Firkin at brouwers. Deep black color with no head. Strong chocolate aroma with cooffee undertones. Taste is sweet almost sickly so and really watery smooth.
