330 ml bottle. Black body with a creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and vanilla. Flavor is smooth, rich, sweet, dark malt, roasted, dry fruit, oak, hops, vanilla, molasses and whisky. Full bodied and a long and warming aftertaste. Really nice, I actually found more aroma in the 16 years version but the flavor is smoother. Looking forward to sample these again quite soon.

Bottle… Pitch black ale with a small, fizzy, light brown head. The aroma is chocolaty, caramely and peaty... very smoky and rich. Full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and prickly carbonation. The flavor is chocolaty and sweet - too sweet. Nice scotch whisky accents, but not enough alcohol or hop bitterness to dampen down the cloying malts. Sweet, smoky finish.

Bottle. Blackish beer with a light tan head. Peat and light smoke aroma with toffee. Smokey/peaty flavor with light chocolate and light vanilla. Medium bodied. Toffee, peat and light chocolate lingers with a bit of nuttiness.

Bottle. Number 10001 from Jan 2009. Black pour with a ruby tinge around the edges. Spotty tan bubbles on the surface. Aroma is chocolate, smoky, peaty, light iodine, and soft roasted malt. Taste is roasted malt, iodine, light salt, peat, smoky wood, light chocolate, hints of coffee and treacle, and toffee. Body is medium, smooth and creamy. Carbonation is subtle and not distracting. Ends with more treacle, roasted malt, burnt wood, peat, light iodine, coffee, bits of toffee and dark fruit. rather tasty!
