Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
A superb, rich, full-bodied beer derived from a 1970s homebrewing recipe. Wickedly smooth chocolate dominates the flavour, which is nicely balanced by the bitterness of the hops.

Thanks to rcasta. Bottle: Think heavy and oily. Porter, stout and ale all together. Well balanced and nicely crafted.

Bottle. Looks like a darker version of Coca cola. Thick brown head. Smells like a imperial stout (choclaty and malty). Tastes coffee and choclate. Sweet and easy to drink. Very smooth. Well ballanced.

Poured from a 12-oz bottle a black with a nice, thick brown head. Smell was very malty with chocolate. A smooth beer with a bitter taste of chocolate and coffee. A bit of a burnt finish and can taste some very faint hops.

Poured from 11.2oz bottle this beer is almost black in color with a thin creamy head. Aromas of chocolate and coffee. Tastes of chocolate malt with a bit of molasses. Finishes more like a Porter. Full mouthfeel. This is very tasty. Not a session brew, but would be a nice treat after a hearty meal.

Flaske. Flot cremet skum på en mørk øl. Engelsk lakrids i duften. Smagen er "gammel" og jeg fatter ikke hvordan jeg kan skrive det om en old ale, men det skal forstås på den gode måde. Den slutter bittert. Udmærket øl.

Bottle from By the Bottle in Vancouver, WA--What a treat. In a nice new fresh label. A mid-bodied opaque black body with an amber hue and a thin tan swirl head. Sweet, nutty, gritty, malten nose. Noteworthy vanilla, chalky, chocolaty, dessertive, roasted, lovable, super dark yet highly quaffable glass of freakin’ beer. This beer excused many a bad UK beers. Oi!

This is very nice. Black, it has a small-to-medium head, light bornw and dense, slowly shrinking. The smell is chocolate, prunes, hints of earth, leaves, bread, a hint of coffee, like a nice, rich porter crossed with Old Pecuilier. The taste is full-bodied rich but smooth and zesty. It has chocolate, brown bread, fruit, prunes, hints of toast and wine and earth and licorice. It’s very nice and goes down easily despite the full character.

bottle-pours a tan head that reduces to a ring and black color. Aroma is dark malt-molasses/cocoa powder, ash, tart dark fruit. Taste is dark malt-cocoa, tart dark fruit. Mid taste on molasses/cocoa powder, ash comes to the front. Unusual. Occasional.
