Jul 1, 2008 11.2oz. bottle: This one pours an opaque, dark brown color. There was a small tan head on it that dropped off quickly. Very little lacing. Some chocolate, coffee and roastiness to the nose. The taste is good. It borders on a full body. Taste is of chocolate malt, some coffee, dark fruits. A hint of bitterness in the finish. Very Nice!

Jun 28, 2008 I was very impressed with the amount of whiskey flavor that makes it into this beer, not only that but it is as though the finest aged single malt flavor. I wish I could rate this higher but frankly I found the flavors overwhelming, sometimes less is more.

Jun 26, 2008 Deep dark brown body with a light brown head. Rich dark chocolate on the aroma at first whiff then some vegemite. Taste has a little dark fruit happening, not quite medium body and the alcohol doesn’t stand out at all. Very easy to drink, certainly want more again but nothing too complex about it.

Jun 19, 2008 Bottle. Pours blacksish brown with light brown head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate & roasted malts. Enjoyable beer. Flavors are well melded. Roasted malts, vanilla, light coffee & chocolate. Very smooth & easy drinking. Will look this one up again

Jun 19, 2008 Bottle poured a clear dark brown nearly black with red highlights and a small diminishing brown head. Aromas of milk chocolate, roasted malt, light coffee and light vanilla. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, bakers cocoa and light coffee with a smooth malty finish.

Jun 18, 2008 Bottle (in NZ, at Galbraiths Alehouse), pours a dark brown with a brown bubbly head. A malty aroma of milk chocolate. A surprisingly light and bitter palate, a flavour of cheap milk chocolate and floral hops. The shortish finish carries through notes of merlot. Better than most, but nothing to really get me really excited.

Jun 14, 2008 Draft @ Delaney’s in New Haven. Black body with a khaki head w/ tight little bubbles. Sweet aroma of malt, alcohol, plum and sweet chocolate, taste of the same. Highlight of the beer is it’s original palate and texture. Thick, but not too syrupy and slightly bubbly.
