Opaque black, thin cream-colored head, milk chocolate and malt aroma that continues into the flavor with a mild hop bitterness.

Bottle. Pours on the black side of brown with a small tan head. The aroma is slight molasses with lots of roasted character and burnt fruitiness, maybe a little bit of chocolate, and a distant hint of tobacco. The flavor is a slight burnt acidity at first, followed by a quick burst of dark fruits and a little bit of chocolate. Then it gradually dries out, eventually coming to a fairly bitter, woody finish. Ok.

Bottle- Pours a deep cola brown, topped with a foamy mocha cap, leaving minute lace. Nose is of wood, cherries, dark chocolate, and a musty, dank, port wine. Nice semi-sweet dark chocolate flavours here, with cherries, smoke, wood, some milk chocolate coming through in the finish with some nice round bitterness. The finish is creamy with good roast lingering.

330ml bottle Poured a deep pretty chestnut with a tall whitish dense head... Low carbonation Smells like bitter chocolate and roasty grains.. Good malty body and just enough bitter hops, not overly roasty bitter finish. Dark fruit, licorice candy and pipe tobacco aromas. Like a serious porter.

Pours as you would expect, as dark as motor oil, with a quickly dimishing beige head. Aroma is BIG, with lots and lots of chocolate, roasty malt, and light caramel. The flavour is tasty, a little thin, but pretty close to on par, in a way its a good thing, it raises the drinkability a bit. A bit sweet at first, with some chocolate, roasted malts, in the middle, a touch of sweetness at the end, and then a light licorice flavour in the finish. All and all a tasty brew that does pretty much all the right things, just a tad thin on flavour and a little watery on the tongue. But I will certainly still be drinking a few more of these.

Bottle. Pitch Black beer with no head, Lots of carbonation bubbles come to the top instead. Powerful aroma of bitter chocolate and yeast. Smells like engine oil :) Porter-like strong taste has chocolate, lemon and roasted malt. Bitter dry oily finish. Medium body. Has character and complexity. Splendid. 180208

330ml bottle from the LCBO. black pour with a small beige head. Aroma is very roasy, and smokey with a touch of soy sauce. Flavour is very roasty, and a touch bitter with a very creamy mouthfeel, the soy sauce flavour is still there, but not a prevalent. A very nice beer, kinda like a cross between a porter, and a very roasty oatmeal stout.
