Bottle shared by puddintane: Black pour with a tan head. Aroma, coffee, some chocolate, and some roasted notes. Flavor, chocolate, a nice carbonation, some vanilla, coffee, pretty tasty.

11.2oz bottle. Aroma: Sweet maltiness with some coffee, anise, and chocolate notes. Getting a lot of earthy/peaty notes and strong aroma of smoke, as well. Some prune and vanilla break through as it warms. Appearance: Dark brown in color with small mahogany highlights. Medium tan head was full and creamy with good retention. Fair lacing. Flavor: Lots of roasted malt with notes of coffee, caramel, nuts, chocolate, and anise. Again, a strong peaty/earthy/smokey flavor really works its way through. Prunes and dried cherries. Medium dry finish. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Moderate carbonation. Light alcohol warming in rear of mouth. Overall: Interesting beer. The whiskey notes really come through strong. Almost too strong at times. Still, I admire the results and enjoy the beer. Good stuff.

This was smooth ,malty and very good.I liked this beer and it is not overwhelmed by the cask conditioning, no head at all and dark black.CHEERS!

Huge, malt and whiskey aroma, smells like your walking down a row of aging whiskey barrels in a deep dank cellar, taste is thick ,caramelly Scotish flavor, mixed with the mellowest of whiskeys, might be a little on the sweet side, might be hard to believe its only 8%,buts its wonderfully delicious, one of the best of the type I’ve had

Bottle from TURDFEGUSON.. Dark, Dark, brown with small milk chocolate colored head. Malty rich caramel aroma. The taste was the same with some dark fruits and wood. The finish was dry followed by woody whiskey notes.

Hmm its good. the aroma is fresh coffee with a touch of oaky splendor. the mouth feel is medium texture, but the taste of dark toasty malts, coffee, whiskey oak and mild cocoa makes this a true winner

Aroma of black licorice. Color resembled that of Coca-Cola but slightly darker. Very little head. Tastes like whiskey.

330ml bottle. 2002 Vintage. Deep dark opaque brown black hue. Sparse tan head. Fruity vanilla woody oaky nose. Sugary sweet malt aromas. Nice burn in the nostrils. Full bodied with little to no carbonation. Smooth malts throughout. Red berry fruity nuance. Nice burn in the middle. Sticky and sweet malty smoothness. Almost a grapey pruney flavor. Slightly vinuous. Nice bitter coffee note. Touch of graham cracker breadiness. Great oaky flavor. Whiskey notes shine. Long and sticky finish. Nicely melded and ageworthy.
