Aroma isn’t offensive, but virtually nothing there. Taste is very sweet with the malt and corn described before melding into something that really did not work for me at all. This was a drain-pour for me and had very little that I found appealing about it. Pretty awful. badgerben (3599), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 12, 2007 An ancient looking bottle produced by Akevitt. Clear yellow color with a medium head. Smells and tastes like sweet corn, very cleanly brewed. Very much like Grain Belt Premium. Honestly, as just a tip-it-back beer, it’s not bad at all. JK (2952), Richfield, Minnesota, USA

Pours a clear golden blonde brew with a fast disolving white head that leaves behind a fine film and ring. Aroma of light bready malt, some sweet citrus zest and a touch of honey.Taste is light bodied, low carbonation, smooth with a good balance of malt and flowery hops flavors. Finish is semi-sweet at first and then a clean cut finish with no aftertaste. Not too bad for an everyday light bodied beer. On a historical note, I remember drinking this beer back in the late 1980s. The G. Heileman version of this beer was the gawd awful example of what beer was not supposed to taste like. I could purchase a six-pack of this for $1.99. One sip and the rest went down the drain, even when chilled to 34 degrees Fahrenheit. It was the worst beer I ever had. I am happy to see that A. Schell has put a much better recipe in this historical brand. akevitt (97), Valhalla, Minnesota, USA

The packaging transports you back to a different era! Kudos to August Schell Brewing Company for bringing this beer back! ...The beer was light gold with a moderate amount of foam. Not a lot happening with the flavor or aroma, this beer is pretty inert. I mainly got some watery grainy malt. Its very low carbonated so its easy going down and even easier coming up.
