This was killer, one of the best that I have tried from Hawks. Deep rich brown color, aroma is nutty and full of rich milk chocolate. Flavor has alot of cocoa, medium bodied and rich with some nice hoppy bitterness and just barely keeps this one being too astrigent. Almost off balance but has just the right amount of flavor for what I was looking for.

Medium dark brown. Sweet nose of chocolate and mild wheat. Flavor is a weak, thin roasted malt offering. A very weak porter, according to my notes. Strong scotch finish is enjoyed, though.

Ruby colored with light tan head & lacing. The aroma is very herbal with some balanced hops & a moderate amount of alcohol & dark malts. The flavor is sweet & astringent, lots of nicely balanced dark malts. Good!

(RBSG04) Beige head atop copper body. Taste is moderately sweet, wall of chococoffee, molasses. Taste is moderately sweet, roasty, chococoffee, some anise, cherry. Light-medium body. An all-around nice beer, though the palate is too light for the flavors.

Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark brown to black, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate, caramel, cookie), moderately hoppy (flowers). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, creamy/velvety texture, lively carbonation. What can I say? Another beautifully made Hawks brew...very much British style like everything else they make, and impossible to stop drinking. Rich rich rich.

Amber with ruby hues, tannish creamy head and spotty lacing. Alcohol and chocolate in the nose. Bitter roast along with floral hops. Chocolate and roast come back for the flavor. Bitter hops accompany some fruit. Bitter palate with a roasty finish.

Ok purchases from the local Organic food place in town. Comes in the plain brown bomber..simple screen printed label. Very good looking beer poured into my dimpled Imperial pint mug, mahogany brown with reddish accents..a great thick creamy tan coloured head..very well done. Nice aroma of burnt malts,,milky..fresh. Nice taste too..starts nice and creamy smooth malty....then a big burnt oat falvour followed by a good noticable bitterness..very good. Very nice on the palte smooth at first then 'adventurous". A nice drinkable porter..nice for the winter months.

Dark black color. Medium white foamy head. Aroma is chocolate. A medium bodied porter. Malts are choclately, with hints of vanilla and dark fruit. Touch of hop spiciness. Flavors are mainly the chocolate and roasted malts. Very smooth. Nicely balanced. Nice porter. Etched/painted bottle. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
