Bottle shared on 8/16/06 by TheBeerCellar2: Pours a clear copper brown with a thin-lacing wispy off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt and a touch of piny hops. Body starts with a sweet viscous caramel maltiness, a hint of raisins and brown sugar and a nicely-balanced, bittersweet, mildly warming finish. A good barleywine.

12oz bottle made from a bomber (heaps of thanks to TAR). Head is fully diminishing. Body is hazy dark amber. Aroma is moderately to heavily malty (cookie, caramel), lightly to moderately hoppy (apricot, flowers), with notes of peach, plum, cantaloupe, whisky/alcohol. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Quite delightful...maybe a little too sweet, but a really inviting fruity & malty nose.

Poured a slightly hazed amber color with a thin off-white head. The aroma was sweet and thick with malt, toffee, and apples. Light hop citrus in the back. Notes of alcohol. Fruity malt flavor. Plenty of apple. Fresh apples, dried apples and even apple cider. Flavor of toffee as well. Nice warming sensation. Mild bitter finish.

(22oz bottle) Pours a clear amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of spruce, caramel, toasted bread, light floral, and a hint of burnt plastic. Flavor of sweet caramel malt, mild hops, and herbal characteristics with light bitterness in the finish.
