RSRIZZO (1332), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Sep 26, 2007 Had this beer on 7/24/2000. Aroma is a lightly sour malt scent. Color is a pale gold with light carbonation and head. Taste is like a piece of burnt bark. Starting with a medium body it goes down sharp. Finish is BAD, it comes on with a taste that is like burnt malt ground up with stale wood. Overall this may be one of the worst beers I’ve ever had and is definitely the worst beer H.C. has ever made. I just don’t know what they where thinking. Tmoney99 (4652), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 7, 2006 Bottle from Party Town, KY. Poured amber color with a moderate white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate sweet malty aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Heavy sweet flavor with a sweet finish of average duration. This did not meet my expectations. AlchemistZ (493), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jun 23, 2005 Old notes. Light in body, crisp but insipable when cold, as it warms its drinkability increases and the finish weighs in with a complex caramel maltiness. Light, but rich red in color. Very little bitterness. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA Feb 27, 2005 Poured red amber with no head or lacing.
Aroma and flavor of malt made this beer too sweet for me.
Drainpour. Slick (1962), Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA Aug 2, 2003 Orangish color, small to no head mild lacing on the side.Malty sweet aroma with a raisin hint and other dried fruit in it,possibly bitter orange peel, mild spice as well.Malty taste with a decent spice to it and mild bitterness fruity and nicely hopped. The after taste is sweet hoppy and mildly fruity as well.nice mild feel in the mouth.A good brew worth trying again. Panzuriel (992), Westerville, Ohio, USA Mar 22, 2003 Light yellow color, medium head. Decent malt aroma. Nice malty flavor with a bit of hops. Decent texture. Nice finish. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA Feb 9, 2003 This is better than any Indian beer I have had. A fine example of a English pub ale. Very malty, some sediment, on the whole a very drinkable beer. MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA Nov 5, 2002 Could use a large blast of hops to even things out. Very malty. Not sure what the India connection is but nothing like anything Indian I’ve ever had IMHO. I enjoyed it but probably won’t look for it again.
