Poured amber color with a moderate white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate sweet malty aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Heavy sweet flavor with a sweet finish of average duration. This did not meet my expectations. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 25, 2002 Pours a nice amber, minimal head and fair lace, sweet some what fruity nose, malts also present, start sweet, the middle light, mild carbonation, light hop presence in the quite dry finish. Drinkable, but nothing to cheer about. Aurelius (2654), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 17, 2002 All malt nose. Hazy tea colored brew with cool label, and griffin & barley emblem. Dinging it for the twistoff. Thin palate. Malty brew with a tea-herbal aftertaste. Not very balanced, but OK and a little different. Drew (2410), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 24, 2002 color was o.k. more malt than hop flavor. the label led me to believe it would be an IPA. it was definitely not. as with some of their other brews, it had an off taste, kind of tart? could have been a lot better. jsquire (2121), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 15, 2002 The malt flavors predominate in this beer. The sweet, malty taste is not well balanced by any hop flavor. There is an almost grainy nose. I suppose its not a bad beer, but I never have to have another one. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2001 Updated: Nov 13, 2003Aroma is very fruity and malty. Very nice deep amber color. Carbonation and head are somewhat on the light side. Flavor profile is quite malty, with the afore-mentioned fruitiness being quite evident. Finish has this maltiness, which is quite unique, mingling with some nice hop flavors. Quite a different beer for me. Not quite sure what style this would be...I guessed by the name it would be an IPA, but no way. ESB seems a likely category. Slick (1962), Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA

Not sure what the India connection is but nothing like anything Indian I’ve ever had IMHO. I enjoyed it but probably won’t look for it again.
