Commercial Description:
This smooth chewy stout has been served along with a filet of tuna coated with a bing-cherry soy dressing as an appetizer, has been seen along Breckenridge's Riverwalk washing down a rich chocolate cake, has been used to make a sweet spice cake, and is, of course, enjoyed just as it is in the pubs along the front range of the Rockies.

Nice dark color but no head. A little on the light side for a stout but still nice to drink. Distinct chocolate and malt flavors. Pleasant aroma.

Black in color; no head; bitter chocolate nose. Bitter chocolate with some citrus. Very thin palate- this style should stick to your tounge. Would be well served by more viscousness.

Creamy, dark, rich, chocolate, and smooth. My new favorite beer.

Odd aroma and thin body. Some caramel notes and a mildly bitter finish. There was an off flavor to the hops I could not identify. Overall not well balanced and unsatisfying.

I revisited this beer after disliking a sixer a year ago; thought I’d give it another try. Mistake! No head, no body, no go. The flavor is rather unpleasant, especially compared to the great Young’s Double Chocolate Stout. There is no mouth presence at all, although I will admit that the color is attractive. But until something even more repulsive comes along, this is the worst stout I have ever had.

Find a bottle that hasn’t been sitting long. Pull out your favorite beer food (bangers and mash, personally). Eat and drink. It’s good. 8-) This is a lighter stout with good chocolate flavors (if you get a young bottle). The head doesn’t exist.

Black (and I mean BLACK) in color. I held the glass up to a light and couldn’t see through it. Absolutely no head, but I won’t hold that against it. A smooth flavor with a slightly creamy chocolate aftertaste. For a second, I thought I was drinking sarsparilla or real root beer.

Subtle, yet tasty, chocolate flavor in the ’back end’ of the swallow. Dry, rich, and ’zingy.’ Good stuff. Nice dessert.
