Commercial Description:
H.C. Berger's Indego is brewed with eight imported and domestic malts. Well-balanced, with a creamy malt flavor, this is an alt (old ale) to remember!

Had this beer on 1/11/1998. Color is a medium golden brown, head and carbonation are light. Aroma is is a mild malt scent with very little hop fragrance. The taste is a little to sweet and hop flavor and bitterness is not the way it should be for a Pale Ale. It starts off with a sweet malt flavor, goes down smooth and finishes with a mild hop bitterness.

12oz bottle-A slightly hazy amber with a nice off white head and an aroma of malt and hops. Taste of malt more than hops. Not impressed.

Amber with a slight chill haze, scant off-white head, slight carmel malt aroma with earthy floral hops, light malt flavor and body, light bitterncss in the finish, boring

Old notes. Very clean maltiness with a touch of dark fruit in the aroma. Creamy, solid medium body with lots of malt and dark fruit. Aroma also contains a graininess from the use of German malts. A plummy earthiness and a dried biscuit flavor also prevails with an underlying caramel/toffee taste. One of their best beers. I always thought of this one as an Alt beer gone crazy than an American pale.

Completely not what I expected. This one pours a light brown color with a very light creamy head. The aroma is complex and does not smell like a pale and I think this should really be labeled as something else. Flavor is balanced but only slightly, there is a battle going on for flavor dominance in this ale. Creamy and full in the mouthfeel, with a taste that is slightly musty and sweaty sort of like a california common. It is well worth a try though if you can find it. I happened to find this one while driving across Wyoming of all places.

malty aroma. sun-like brown appearance, translucent. tastes really good, sweet malty with pretty (floral) hops and such. feels good, creamy, full, but a bit dry in the end. overall, very good, but nothing too great. reminded me of a maltier , sweeter anchor steam that seemed to be alot more full. well, that's strange.

Dark golden color. Malty aroma. Malts are ever present on the palate and in the aftertaste. Different from an American pale.

Poured an red-tan body with a white head. Some lacing.
Lots of hops in the nose. Some sweetness in the nose too.
Nice balance between the malt and hop. The maltiness is a little more pronounced than the hops even. This beer really works just from the balance.
A bit fizzy on the mouth though.
