Draught at 93 Street at Fulton. Dark copper colour. Chocolatey malty, slight nutty. ABV shines through. Tasty. Clear alcohol touch in finish. Smooth, almost bock-like mouthfeel. Underlying sourish tone.

Draft at the Empire State building location... Clear, burnt orange ale with a small, creamy, white head. Terrific retention. The nose is fruity and lightly chocolatey. The flavor is well-balanced and of mild chocolate and bread. Light-bodied and silky with medium carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish. Not even close to being true to the style, but that’s why I really like it.

Has a nice dark but not too dark appearance to it. Goes down pretty smooth with an interesting taste to it. Can’t taste the chocolate as much as I expected to but still there are hints of it there.

Draught at the 50th St location: I was so excited about this beer. Chocolate + Wit! What’s not to love. It’s not clear whether the "Belgian" in the name describes the chocolate or the Wit - I’ll assume the chocolate. It’s unclear. Finally, the beer arrives. I’ve been anticipating this moment for weeks, and.............it looks and tastes like an Ale. What a disappointment. This should look like a wit, yes? See Hoegaarden. It shouldn’t have any hops in it, but for some reason it does. WTF? There’s the faintest hint of chocolate in the aroma, yet none in the taste. I detected no spices and no citrus. What an indescribable letdown.

On tap at Union Square location. Poured an opaque orange, almost amber with no head. Aroma was slighty yeasty with some light spice and some orange. Taste was complex and defintely had some chocolate in it almost like a malt chocolate with some orange aftertaste. The best way to describe it is it tasted like those foil wrapped chocolate eggs, not a strong heady chocolate but a sweet citrus chocolate with some hints of wood and smoke in the aftertaste. Very impressive and rich.

Draught @ Times Square Location: This was an interesting brew. Adding chocolate wheat malt to a Wit is an interesting permutation of the style. It is a hazy copper color, with a fairly dense off-white head. There was some lacing. There was a bit of chocolate and orange notes to the aroma. Slightly spicy also. The taste was very enjoyable. Chocolate, wheat and orange notes. It has both notes of tartness and sweetness. This was a very good variation of a Wit.
