| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 29, 2009 On tap at Union Square. Pours a dark brown color, aroma at first is almost nil. Flavor is very sweet and malty with no hop character evident, especially at the beginning. Palate is smooth. However, as the drink wears on the flavor becomes a lot more balanced and the aroma is much more noticeable- sweet caramel and toffee among others. If you get this beer you must be patient to fully enjoy it. tgncc (822), Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 5, 2009 The aroma is malty, caramel, toffee, bread. Very sweet, and enticing. The appearance is an attractive mix of ruby red and chestnut brown, which is in keeping with this style. The flavor more or less follows the aroma, caramel, toffee, sweet, and bready. The finish has light hop note, and malty sweetness, which is not bad. Decent if not great Dunkler. TBone (6799), Pori, Finland

Dark copper brown color, steadty off-white head, lace. Light nutty and citrusy aroma. Sweetish bock - mostly lemony "brewpub" brewing mash flavors. Caramelly finish. A bit toasty. Not very bock-like. rlgk (3377), Vårgårda, Sweden
