Spab (49), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 1, 2008 Draught at Empire St. Building location. Pours a clear gold with a white head and lacing. Sweet malt and some hopiness in the aroma. Malts and hops both come through in the flavour. Smooth mouthfeel, medium body and bitter finish. Decent beer. Russo (487), Campinas, Brazil Aug 14, 2008 TAP@Heartland, Empire State,NY. Amber color with a thin white head. Aroma is complex, some sweet and hop notes. Flavor is hoppy. Mouthfeel has a smooth bitterness. Capa (738), Yokosuka, Japan Aug 11, 2008 Hoppy, but a little too muted for a US IPA. Fairly malty, biscuit, grassy, and some sweetness, too. Light metallic and resin finish. It almost seemed like they brewed US and UK IPAs, then mixed them. I did enjoy this one, though. cryfreedmb (102), Ocean, New Jersey, USA Aug 10, 2008 Good brew. Yet not sure where this one was going. Definitily not an IPA, not enough hoppiness. Not really an APA (not enough pine or citrus) or an EPA for that matter. Had a very destictive character to it. However, I did like the brew. It just tasted different to me. Possibley closest to the EPA. Still pretty decent. rcasta (265), El Salvador Jul 16, 2008 A Sim rate (tap at Heartland Brewery, Union Square): It’s that infectious kind of hops aroma that just jumps out at you! It’s fresh summer. It’s cut grass. Very nice head and lacing. It’s everything an IPA should be. Esta mejor el ambiente y la comida en el brewery pero buena ipa. Malty and so freshly hoppy. Delicate after an initial serious assault. Very impressed.
