eaglefan538 (2039), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Apr 6, 2008 On draft at the Radio City location. Color was amber-brown/copper, decent head when served, yet it subsided and became average. Aroma was coffee and west coast type hops (pine?). The caramel and toffee notes came out, but it finished dry and with a firm hop finish. snore. Caramel and some toffee, moderately dry, firm hop presence. Mouthfeel was average for the style. Snore. JoeMcPhee (3671), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Apr 7, 2007 Tap at the Union Square location. Deep amber red colour. Thick white nitro head. Aroma is very sweet and candyish, sweet toffee, caramel, and brown sugar. Flavour matches with wave after wave of increasingly cloying sweetness. Caramel turns to butterscotch and I turn to order something else. A completely unnecessary brew. Jine (855), Nutley, New Jersey, USA Apr 5, 2006 3.30.06 At 43rd Street location. Heartily enjoyed this.. Ruby coloring. Amazing aroma. Currants? What? Crisp. Clean. Creamy. Trip-C. Really solid. tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA Mar 28, 2006 At South Street Seaport. Another fine red beer from Heartland. It was near the end of the sampler and I could not tell which was Irish and which was Rooster. One sip of this creamy beer and I knew that this was Irish. A fine brew that was light and creamy. Shadrach (176), Brooklyn, New York, USA Mar 20, 2005 On tap at Empire State location. Poured a ruby red with some orange lacing. Aroma was a faint spice almost cinammon and something like oats. Taste was very light on the palate, thin, but then it kicks up a little with some malt bitterness and some spice to it. It had a crisp taste to it, almost like apple spice and ended with a maltly caramel bitterness. Better taste near the end, could be more balanced throughout.
