SDbruboy (1807), San Diego, California, USA Aug 23, 2006 On draft at brewpub. This Belgian style beauty shown a hazy goldent-amber color in the glass with a thin white head that leaves heavy lacing. Aroma is fruity, spicy and bready (quite nice), sweet with fragrant belgian yeastiness, citrus notes and wild flowers. Features an excellent blend of tart and sweet flavors, crisp and clean with lots of citrus and spice (like sweet bread with candied orange), lemon, floral hops and a lingering spicy aftertaste. Light and clean on the palate, crisply assertive carbonation and leaves a dry sensation on the tongue. JoeMcPhee (3586), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Aug 19, 2006 Tap at the Empire State location. Slightly hazy pale amber beer. Aroma is slightly earthy and a bit fruity. Some apricot notes. Flavour is pretty terrible, underattenuated, sweet fruity esters and pale earthy malts. This ain’t no saison and it’s not even a very good pale ale. radiomgb (1701), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Aug 9, 2004 Cloudy golden in colour. Aroma was rather light with some hops, fruit and not nearly enought sourness or funkiness that you should get in a saison. Flavour of citrus (oranges and lemones), slight sourness. Medium body and high carbonation. Finishes with a mild bitterness. Shadrach (176), Brooklyn, New York, USA Jun 30, 2004 On tap at Union Square. Poured an opaque light orange with yellow at the bottom. The aroma was reminiscent of peaches, almost like those slices of peaches you get in the cans that have a sweetness to them. Taste had a slight bite to it, with some yeast and malt coming through but also the taste of like black plums.
