boto (1191), Granby, Connecticut, USA Nov 24, 2007 Draught @ Times Square location: This one pours a rather lighter color than expected. It is a clear golden color with an off-white head. It leaves some lacing. It has a sweet, malty aroma with some floral notes. The taste is somewhat sweet. Faint citrus and maybe a hint of butteriness. Good, but it could be better. Dickinsonbeer (2458), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA May 7, 2006 Empire state building. This is a pretty good maibock overall but has some slight flaws. Pours a nice deep golden- light copper with a thin head. Aroma is slightly estery and fruity with slight apple juice, sticky sweet malts, and lightly bready. Flavor has only a slight sharp malt characteristic and despite its high abv, the body is weaker than most great Maibocks. Lacks that sharp full bodied malty sweetness. Finishes a bit fruity as well. Pretty smooth and easy drinking though. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA May 17, 2005 Only the 51st percentile? That is surprising. Nose was not real strong had some honey, citrus and caramel malts in it. Not real complex. Taste was really nice with the citrus and honey working quite well together. I like honey in my Maibocks and I certainly got that here. I would love to have this again. JoeMcPhee (3615), Jackson Heights, New York, USA May 17, 2005 Pale golden colour. Light honey aroma, candy, sweet malts and noble hops with a cleanish aroma. Sweet malty flavour with a touch of alcohol bite. Nice hoppy flavour balances the finish out. Some citrusy hops in here as well as the light earthy spice. They match with the style surprisingly well. rickgordon (2947), Göteborg, Sweden May 4, 2005 Draught at the Empire State location.
Amber colour. Fresh, sweet and somewhat citric nose. Sweet, very malty in flavour with a slight sourish touch. Grassy. Very full-bodied. Pils malt profile. ABV is pretty well hidden.
