DSG (1020), Yuvalim, Israel Nov 29, 2008 (10/22/08) Draught sample at the brewpub at Empire State Building, New York. Cloudy yellow color with no head. Aroma of wheaty fruity esters, some yeast and a bit of clove. Sweetish wheaty flavor with some banana notes, some orange and lemon and a bit of spiciness in the finish. Medium-bodied. An OK Weizen.
rugbydude05 (201), Kew Gardens, New York, USA Oct 24, 2008 Tap at Union Square. Pours a cloudy golden color typical of a hefeweizen. Very spicy aroma with hints of lemon and fruit. Taste was rather bitter with overwhelming spicyness. Palate was rough but typical of the genre. Very watered down taste with little body. Not horrible, but try something else at Heartland. More flavour than their other wheat beer. Soft wheat character, banana, some cloves. Nothing to get excited about. tgncc (377), Bellmore, New York, USA Oct 3, 2008 Nice aroma of bananas, clove and wheat. Much stronger than the typical hefeweizen. The appearance is true to the style, a cloudy straw gold color, white head. The flavor is sweet with banana flavors, slightly spicy from the clove, and has a quality like wheat bread. The finish is mostly the spicy qualities of cloves, etc. Not bad. JoeMcPhee (4061), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Aug 9, 2008 Tap at the Union Square location. Cloudy (very cloudy) yellow brew. Aroma is quite citrusy and lemony. Light clovey with a light orange/tangerine citrus quality. Very wheaty and spicy, but there are also some soapy and phenolic character that is quite off-putting. Really, not very good at all.
