thooper41 (384), Oregon, USA Oct 8, 2008 330ml bottle: pours golden brown with minimal white head, aroma has a slight hint of malt, flavor has a very dry malt ofset by a slight bitterness but im not even sure if there are hops in this, it could be the taste from the heather but its very interesting bitterness. all in all this beer gets an A for effort on the style but just a pretty good beer over all. bbrock81 (218), Le Mars, Iowa, USA Oct 5, 2008 Pours a cloudy dark yellow with a very small, disappearing head. Aroma is floral, fruity and malty sweet. Flavor is of chewy malt followed by a dry finish. Not bad, but nothing too special either. KnN (712), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Sep 28, 2008 Poured a bit of a hazy golden color with a thin white head. Smell was really very fruity and floral, very pleasant. The flavor was something else entirely though, kind of dry and puckering. Very much like the dry white wine in the description. Interesting mix of the two sense in this beer. Very interesting. Beerman6686 (1266), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 27, 2008 Poured a dark yellow color with a white head. Aroma was very spicey, hard to put my nose on anything in particular. Flavor was maltniess, some spices and a hint of hops in the finish. Lubiere (4464), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Sep 19, 2008 A golden ale with a thin white head. A seet honey malt with signs of oxidation. In mouth, a sweet musty malt, with light cardboard, surranated hops. Medium bodied. BB April 2007. LCBO giftbox, xmas 2006. beerchugger (285), Colorado, USA Sep 18, 2008 I really liked this brew. Pours a hazy golden color. The taste is not quite something I can put my finger on so I am assuming that it’s the heather flowers. Very unique, but very good for something different. I can be rather adventerous in my tates sometimes and this beer seemed to really hit the spot. Not something to drink on a regular basis, but good nonetheless. kmweaver (2396), Sebastopol, California, USA Sep 2, 2008 11.2oz bottle, courtesy of my brother. Thanks, Phil! Pours a hazy, peachy orange color; off-white head with good retention and glistening lacing. Kind of an odd aroma: floral notes, various soft spices, and dog food; nicely floral somewhere in there, but hard to get around the dog food / stale wet malt note. Not mouthwatering. Medium mouthfeel: chewy floral and spice notes (very soft, herbal), basic sugary malts, and touches of that wet malt / dog food note again (though less pronounced than in the aroma); very odd beer; relaxed carbonation. Lengthy finish: stale floral notes, wet malts, and basic sugar. gam (1068), brisbane, Australia Aug 31, 2008 Good head on misty orange/gold ale meek carbonation.Aroma malty, sweet scent, mild honey like.Flavour sharp really hangs on,heather has a wild stimulating pineapple/apricot taste, very decent ale in body.It has a dryness to it which is almost perfect at the finish and the taste is sharp and lasting .
